MariLUG At The MuNatHist

On January 06, 2024, some friends and I went to the MuNatHist - the Nova Scotia Museum Of Natural History - to see an exhibit by MariLug: The Maritime Lego Users Group. It was a really nifty display of Lego creations by local enthusiasts. There were a few out-of-the-box sets, but for the most part the displays were made of MOCs - a term that refers to Lego scenes made by the builder without official instructions (It's short for "My Own Creation"),

There were several square display boxes showing off single models or small groups, as well as a few domes. One whole side of the room was taken up by a huge cityscape, complete with a powered train. There was also a wind turbine that spun on the press of a button.

After oohing and awwing over the Lego, we continued on through a few other areas of the museum. There was also an impressive exhibit on quilting.

We ended our visit to the MuNatHist with a look at the perennial favourite, the "Science On A Sphere" theatre, where information and images are projected onto a giant orb. After the museum we returned to my place where we continued our Lego-themed adventures with a board game: A reskinned version of Splendor that I call Legendor - I made it to use Lego bricks instead of gems.
