As the year drew to a close, the family drew together. My sister's family stuck it out in Saskatchewan, and we had frequent online gatherings. I spent time with my parents, and also with my brother and his brood. A festive, fun few weeks!

This is the microphone of my headset. Nowadays, a decent audio setup is a crucial piece of infrastructure for families separated by long distances.

These are the hinges on a box my father brought back from the Middle East over three decades ago. To me, the box itself is a treasure!

I find it funny that the word "brush" brings to mind softness, while the word "bristle" has a harsher connotation. Looking closely at a brush's bristles, though, it is a bit easier to see that distinction!

In lieu of a photo for December 19th, here are two from the twentieth. I took the ferry over from Woodside to Halifax, and snapped off a few shots on the way.

Board games are de rigueur among my family. We spent many hours over the Christmas break trying to outdo each other in Settlers Of Catan, Century: Spice Road, Wizard, and (as photographed here) Ticket To Ride.
